Zero Waste Christmas Gifts

Christmas is less than two weeks away, but maybe you put off buying your Christmas gifts until now and are running out of time. Here are some simple different cost zero waste gift items for anyone on your list!

Safety Razor

I got this one at a local store in town called Everyman, but there are many places where you can find safety razors. Buy one and it can honestly last a lifetime. No more disposable plastic razors every couple of weeks.

Stainless Steel Straws

Stainless steel straws are a great zero waste alternative for those pesky single use plastic straws. You can carry these in your purse and keep some at home.

Bamboo Toothbrush

Bamboo toothbrushes are compostable when finished. The bristles are still made of plastic, but it is so much less plastic than the standard toothbrush. This toothbrush came from TheGreenRoot.

Water Bottle

The Hydroflask bottle can keep liquids cold or hot, thus it is perfect for ice cold water or hot coffee on the go. A reusable bottle is a great alternative to reduce the amount of plastic water bottles bought and used in our world.

Travel Cutlery

Not pictured, but these utensils also came in a great little carrying pouch. You can keep these in your car or purse and always have a pair of reusable cutlery so you can refuse the plastic ones given at so many restaurants.

Mason Jar

Mason jars can easily be found in so many second hand and thrift stores. I found this one for only $0.75. Mason jars are useful for so many different things. You can use this jar for a drink, for leftovers, for a snack, for bulk shopping or for storage.

To spice up the gift, you could also fill the jar with candy from bulk bins or homemade snacks.

Plants can spice up any room or office space! They can be found at the local Farmers Market, local plant nurseries, or even at the grocery store.

Buy an experience rather than an item. Experiences will create lasting memories and can sometimes mean so much more than any gift ever could! Go to a concert, an art show, museum, road trip or so much more!
